How does Earn work?

You privately supply your coins to an Aave v3 Ethereum Core Market, earning as borrowers pay interest. You can redeem your shares and get your coins back (plus interest) at any time.

What coins and Aave markets are supported?

See the Mainnet table in our supported tokens doc.

What is the level of privacy?

Our relayer acts as the sender and there is no public link to your private account. No one can see any coins or share tokens you hold in your private account - not even us.

Aave deposit diagram

This diagram shows how your private account deposits coins into Aave in exchange for share tokens. Redeeming share tokens in exchange for the original coin type you deposited is the exact same flow.

How to best maintain your privacy

The actual coins that get deposited into Aave come from the pool of coins all users have sent to our Ethereum contract when transferring funds to their private accounts. Because these coins are not directly tied to any Ethereum address that has deposited funds into Nyx, there is no clear link to your connected Ethereum wallet address. However, if you transfer 1.034567 ETH from your Ethereum account into your Aztec private account and shortly thereafter a Nyx relayer deposits 1.034567 ETH into an Ethereum vault, people may suspect that your Ethereum account is connected to the vault deposit. So, you may wish to wait a bit between these actions and/or break your deposit into multiple parts depending on the level of Nyx vault traffic at the time.

Why do I have to claim my vault shares after depositing, and my coins after redeeming?

For the same reason as when you transfer from your Ethereum account to your Aztec private account: to keep the receiving address (your private account) a secret. As shown in the image above, you must claim them with the secret claim code only you know.
